Full "Country Tech Support" by Tim Hawkins

I loved doing the intro to Superchick's "Get up" so I did the full version of Tim Hawkin's "Tech Support"

"Get Up" Singing Tiger

This is my talking tiger singing the beginging of "Get Up" by Superchick.  We Used some simple Photoshop to make the faces before using the faces to animate the tigers in flash.  It was actually lots of fun and I'm going to animate another full length song.

Favorite Post

I believe my second animation was my best project.  This one is an animation but my favorite types are the ones that use the liquifier and as many other techniques as possible. This work was smooth, did what I wanted it to and turned out well.  Plus it was pretty fun.  I will most likely use  these techniques at some point again.  I really like working with all the techniques and things we've done so far so I don't really care what we do or don't do more of.

The Woodland Exclusive

Carriebell, the character I made combining Carrie Underwood and Tinkerbell, made it to the cover of The Woodland Exclusive when she inherited millions of dollars in gold and jewels.  This wasn't that hard to do.  All we did was take the characters, put them on a cool background and use the text tool to  write the various article summeries.

Carriebell

This is a combination of Carrie Underwood and Tinkerbell.  I have no idea why I chose these two specifically but I do like them both.  I used a lot of different tools for this including one or two I hadn't before.  I like the way this turned out, I wasn't sure it would.

ipad work

The past few days we spent in the library using two programs on the ipads.  The first one was a paint program and was a lot of fun and fairly easy.  The second program was a sculpting program and horribly frustrating the worst part was that you couldn't adjust the screen to view your object from the angle you wanted to.  If we ever had to do another project on here I hope it's on the painting program.  I don't really have something in mind that I would want to do but the program in general was fun.

Walking Girl

This piece was mostly successful.  The pictures were really hard to position and get.  The cycle over all worked though.  If I were to do this project again I would just draw the girl over and over because positioning the paper was a serious pain.  This piece showed me that paper is really annoying to position just the way I want it.  While the over all idea behind this is really cool.  I will not be using paper next time.

Jail fish

I think that this piece was successful.  The piece did almost exactly what I wanted. The project just pretty much worked out for me.  If I were to do it again though I would change the speed and time of the ball, making it a little more fluid and slower.  The piece wasn't really difficult the way I did it, merely a little time consuming.  Making this piece I learned how to animate works.

Caged Dancer

For this mesh project I used a bird and dancer, a dragon and cage, and a cave and lace.  The lace stays plain lace as it drapes down around the locky ledge that used to be it crumpled at the bottom where it gains a rocky texture and color.  The dragon hand blends down into the cage that traps the winged dancer.  I avoided obvious objects and used more than two to help almost tell a story.  There aren't any jagged edges and other than the dancer the colors all blend.  The dancer was purposefly different, a light in the darkness and the shadowing on her helps with that.

Reflective Banana

This is a banana on a reflective surface.  We learned a few new techniques for this but over all it's pretty simple

White Tigala

This is my cross between a Koala and a White Tiger.  This was deffinitely more of a chalenge than what we've done so far.  I had to combine all the techniques we've used so far but I like the way it turned out.  This newmal makes me pretty happy since white tigers are my favorite animal and koalas are adorable.

Splat Cat

This is a paint splattered cat we did.  I like it a lot, though that might be because it has a cat in it.  This was a fairly simple one to do and if I did it again I'd probably end up putting a more complex patern on it.

Cartoon Portrait

The background is of a burning forest and the cartoon is of Syaoran Li with my arms around his shoulder.  My left arm is overlapping his neck and then his neck overlapps my right arm to help it look more real. I had to get rid of the feathers that were floating by too him but you can't really tell where they were.

Angry Pancake

We made our angry pancakes while learning how to use photoshop.  This was fun and just the name angry pancake is very amusing.  If I were to do it again I would hope it would come out better than this one but I still really like it for my first try.

Frog toungue

This was the second thing we did in computer art.  This one was even more fun and turned out much better than the last one.  We were still learning new things in photoshop but not as many though it took even longer to make.  I'm very happy with it and hope my work continues to improve.

Time Shoe

Taking ink you can water it down to make shades and patterns.  Time Shoe was inspired by passing time.  Time enamors me, so the heel ended up an hour glass and clock hands were put on the shoe itself.  The whole thing is bound by a thread with a pendulum like weight at the top.  The thread is to symbolize how we are all mortals bound by time that eventually ends for us.

Flourished Phoenix

When working with ink, flourishes are often used.  This phoenix is made of black ink and was originally just a bunch of random squiggles and flourishes but seemed to take form and flight on the page of my altered book.

Tangled Feelings

My overlapped figure drawing, Tangled Feelings, is quick marker outlines of people painted in with water color any color but the original overlay the blue red and purple tangled background.  Each person carrying a particular emotion in their pose.

Social Isolation Through Technology

These are three photos I took showing how even though technology allows us to "interact" more even though we are spending more and more time alone.  People will often sit for hours at a time as they “interact” with others, never actually seeing or talking to another. We can even be in the same room without truly being together, so distracted by our technology today.

White Rose

White Rose was inspired by Chuck Close who does lots of large portraits, sometimes of himself and sometimes of others.  It's a double self portrait using acrylics and medium.  It's double because it was finger painted.  A picture of me with my finger prints all over it.

Shadow Bugs

By pouring small amounts of ink onto a sheet of paper and blowing it you can get strange intricate patterns such as here in Shadow Bugs.  Each of the three spindly shapes remind me both of dark dancing shadows and of insects.  I tend to imagine the two above fighting the one below.
